Andrea Daly – Trustee
“My passion is in helping young people to grow, learn, and lead a fulfilling life.”
Andrea’s lifetime career has been in the secondary and tertiary education sectors in New Zealand, spanning over 35 years. A significant period has been working in careers education and career development for adolescents and young adults.
“A really rewarding five years of my career was working as a Mentor Programme Manager where the recipients of a scholarship were supported through their tertiary education by a “wise mate”. Seeing each young person grasp the opportunity to complete a tertiary qualification and have someone walk alongside them was incredibly rewarding when at the end of their journey, through ups and downs and sheer hard work, they become role models for their peers and family.” Helping young people to achieve their future career and personal goals through education, Andrea believes that engaging in relationships will give young people the best chance of succeeding. She is a strong believer in encouraging everyone to seek out opportunities so they can develop their personal skills in an environment in which they are actively participating to help themselves and others.
